Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AdvDesk. They form a legal contract between you and ADV (Cairo, Egypt). Please read them carefully — by creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, downloading the AdvDesk client, or otherwise
using the service at advdesk.advcode.net, you agree to these
Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using
AdvDesk on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have
authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that
organization. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use AdvDesk.
2. Service description
AdvDesk is a remote-desktop control product consisting of:
- The AdvDesk client — a Windows executable that runs on the host machine and exposes it to authorized viewers.
- The AdvDesk viewer — a desktop application and a browser-based web viewer used to connect to a host.
- The AdvDesk relay — a hosted WebSocket service that routes encrypted traffic between hosts and viewers without requiring port forwarding.
- The dashboard — a web UI for account, billing, team, and API key management.
3. Account registration
To use AdvDesk you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at security@advcode.net if you suspect unauthorized access. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA at /account/2fa.
You must be at least 13 years old to use AdvDesk; users in the EU must be at least 16, or have parental consent where local law allows.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use AdvDesk only for lawful purposes. Specifically:
- Authorization required. You may use AdvDesk only on devices that you own, that you administer, or that you have explicit, informed authorization from the owner or operator to control. Connecting to a device without consent is illegal in most jurisdictions and is a material breach of these Terms.
- No malicious use. You may not use AdvDesk to deliver malware, ransomware, or spyware; to facilitate unauthorized access; to harass or stalk; to commit fraud; or to violate any applicable law.
- No abuse of the service. You may not attempt to circumvent plan limits, overload the relay, reverse-engineer the service in ways that violate applicable law, or use AdvDesk to mine cryptocurrency or run other prohibited workloads.
- Plan limits apply. Each plan has limits on concurrent connections, monthly bandwidth, and team members. Exceeding those limits may result in throttling or suspension. Limits are documented at /#pricing.
- No reselling. You may not resell, sublicense, or rent AdvDesk to third parties without a written agreement with us.
If we believe in good faith that your use violates these Terms, we may suspend or terminate your account; see Section 7.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Free plan. The Free plan is, well, free. No credit card is required. Plan limits apply.
Paid plans (Pro, Team, Enterprise) are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Prices, taxes (where applicable), and billing currency are shown at checkout. We may change prices for new billing periods with at least 30 days' notice; existing periods you've already paid for are not affected.
Cancellation. You can cancel any paid plan at any time from /billing via the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months unless required by law (see Refunds below).
Failed payment. If a payment fails, we will retry over a few days and notify you. If we cannot collect payment after the retry window, your plan will be downgraded to Free and any features above the Free tier will be disabled. Your data is retained.
6. Refunds
We offer a 14-day refund window on the first payment for each paid plan: if you are dissatisfied within 14 days of your initial subscription, email hello@advcode.net and we'll refund you in full. After the first 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer-protection law (for example, the EU's 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts, which we honor without question).
7. Termination
By you. You can delete your account at any time from /account. After a 30-day grace period, your data is permanently purged.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms (especially Section 4 — Acceptable Use), or if required by law. We will give you reasonable notice and the chance to remedy the breach where appropriate, except in cases of clear abuse, illegal activity, or where notice would itself prejudice our investigation.
On termination, your right to use AdvDesk ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (Sections 6, 8–13) will survive.
8. Intellectual property
AdvDesk software, branding, documentation, and content are owned by ADV
and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. We
grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license
to use AdvDesk for your own remote-desktop needs in accordance with these
Terms and your plan. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create
derivative works of AdvDesk except as expressly permitted (for example,
certain components are released under open-source licenses; see the
project's LICENSE files for those specific terms).
Anything you create or transfer using AdvDesk (your sessions, files, content) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your data.
9. Warranty disclaimer
AdvDesk is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every conceivable threat. The Free plan in particular has no uptime guarantee. Paid plans have target uptime as published, and Enterprise customers receive an SLA in their order form.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to AdvDesk or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we were advised of the possibility.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or personal injury where such limitation is prohibited by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold ADV harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: your breach of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your misuse of AdvDesk in a way that causes harm to a third party (for example, using AdvDesk to access a device you weren't authorized to control).
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt — except that consumers in the European Union retain the protection of mandatory consumer law and EU data-protection law (including GDPR and the right to bring claims in their local courts where required).
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. For material changes (changes that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations), we will notify you by email and post a banner in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you may cancel your account before they take effect.
